Da Minista!
Some people have asked me ‘ where do you get the inspiration to write slam poetry?’ and i’ve found out that that is an ever evolving answer, and thanks to wonderful world of hectic schedules and chronic-’gottamakeithappenNOWobia’, i’ve figured out a series of two word answers:
smart women,
bad days
open mic
&
concrete generation
more specifically; Da Minista! (sorry ‘que’, ‘maze’….yall names don’t fit the ‘two word theme of this entry)
no seriously. it’s good to have mentors and students, but for me growth comes from people on my level, around my age, on my teer. i thought the word i’m looking for is/was ‘liaison’, but i just looked it up: no. but anyway…i look up to their efforts without feeling some little brother or son. so perhaps i mean, we’re like siblings. we’re growing together. i can easily see this as the healthiest competition since vegan restaurants stormed downtown Atlanta. so with that said…
I LOVE DA MINISTA’S WORK! his penmanship is an inspiration, and is really too much to expound upon, so I’m providing some links here, and hope you enjoy as much as i have!

p.s. i just saw the 2nd half of ‘Great White Hope’ w/ James Earl Jones, and I had nooooooooo idea how powerful of an actor he was. i just knew he’d earned his props, and by the time i popped out of a womb, he was just doing voice overs as darth vador. so …don’t sue me. your kid probably has no idea who Indiana Jones is.

Okay, what’s up with this? No new post in three days?! I’m having withdrawals!
your absolutely right, i’ve been slacking. I got one post thats been sitting in ‘draft’ mode for like four days now. i’ll remedy that soon!
