Two days ago (july 14th) i go into the studio to record “Don’t Stop For Love” with Science Omega on the sound boards and Kelly Jolly on the microphone.

If these names mean nothing to you, that’s cool, mine probably doesn’t either, but trust me…..they’re both extremely talent beings on this planet earth, so to have them work with me is an H.O.N.O.R.

anyway…i really got big hopes for this song. 

i’ve done this one song over a Citizen Cope composition (called DEEP), and then wrote and composed “Love and Grow” w/ S.T.A.R.R. and the ever so lovely Rhea Sunshine on vocals.  ONLY ISSUE IS, there’s no way right now i can clear that song, although its probably the most powerful thing i’ve ever created to date, i legally can’t use it for more than promo purposes; which brings me to ‘Don’t Stop For Love’, cause guess what!?!?!?  …yoooouuuuu guessed it!  i CAN use that song for than promo purposes!

ok….just excited.  Jolly’s vocal talent is ridiculously timeless!  she took my idea and gave it steroids!  my hope for this album (which i’m going to call RADIO ACTIVE) is growing.  touring, booking, traveling, meeting people with my art in hand, ready to roll, has been my goal this year (past few years actually) , and it’s finally coming into grasp powerfully.

ANOTHER SIDE NOTE:

i was talking to a friend recently and i was stating how there are no good writing spots on my side of town.

naturally they were like “ALL you need is a pen and pad! there’s plenty of spaces!”

I should’ve clarified.  No places to write ‘WELL’.

For me, when i’m writing offline , the original skool way,

i have to have ROOM to think on certain levels of creativity.  i need LOTS of space. OUTSIDE.

for some reason i lose my mind in mountains, perhaps it’s the capricorn in me, but put me in a high elevated place and all i want to do now is write.  i’m sure its the atmosphere that’s effecting me that way…and on my side of town, a writing atmosphere is hard to MAINTAIN with all the distractions. 

Don’t sleep…i’ll slam anywhere and i’m comfortable in my skin when in the hood,

but the WRITING process NEEDS to be damn near ZEN to keep competing at the level i’m breaking myself off with this year, so anway

I FOUND A SPOT!!!!!!!!!

sometime last night after the radio show, i’m cruising around, about 2:30 am, when something tells me:

“aye….you’re not sleepy……….you don’t wanna go home……..nah nah…..YOU WANNA WRITE!”

so i stumble across this park that’s off in the cut, looks abandoned, and feels JUST WRITE!!!

so yeah..i started a new one that I plan to present at the next slam August 3rd, 2007!
